Renaissance Physical Therapy Arts + Wellness

Renaissance Physical Therapy Arts + Wellness prides itself on providing expert care. Founded in 2010, Renaissance has served Montclair, New Jersey and surrounding communities for almost 10 years. Physical Therapy services are individually designed to meet the precise rehabilitative needs of patients. Injury Prevention Programs are tailored to enable one to reach their full potential without the risk of injury.

Renaissance provides outpatient physical therapy and onsite injury prevention programs. Renaissance has also worked with surrounding schools, clubs, businesses, and community-based programs on injury prevention in sports, the performing arts, recreational athletic activities, and in corporate settings. Renaissance has also served local performing arts venues including Peak Performance at Montclair State University and NJPAC.

Caryn Bregman, MSPT is passionate about excellence in rehabilitative and preventive care. Ms. Bregman started Renaissance Physical Therapy Arts + Wellness to address the individual rehabilitative and preventive needs of local and surrounding communities. Ms. Bregman is an orthopedic manual physical therapist specializing in orthopedic, sports and performing arts medicine. As a physical therapist, Ms. Bregman has worked with athletes, professional dancers, actors, musicians and the general public. Prior to opening Renaissance, Ms. Bregman worked with performers from many Broadway productions including West Side Story, Mary Poppins, Shrek the Musical, Spamalot, Billy Elliot, Thirteen, the Rockettes and more. Ms. Bregman has also worked with dance company members and students of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

Currently, Renaissance serves the general public, young and recreational athletes, dancers from Montclair State University and local dance schools, and has provided onsite physical therapy for Benjamin Millepied’s LA Dance Project, Akram Kahn Dance Company, Bill T. Jones, and the Richard Alston Dance Company at Peak Performances at Montclair State University. Renaissance has also worked with the tour of A Chorus Line at NJPAC. Currently Ms. Bregman is on faculty at Montclair State University working with the dance and musical theater department.

Ms. Bregman completed her graduate work at Long Island University and has many post-graduate certificates in manual therapy and sports and dance medicine from the Institute of Physical Art, Northeast Seminars, Integrated Manual Therapy Solutions, the Hospital for Special Surgery and the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. She is a former dancer and taught dance, fitness and Pilates for many years prior to becoming a physical therapist.

 

In 2014, Ms. Bregman started her blog (nopainexercise.com) to address exercising safely. She is currently working on a video series and a book on this subject, as well. Her writing has appeared in major publications, including the New York Times.

Ms. Bregman believes it’s important to maintain excellent communication - not only with her patients, but with all those involved in her patients’ care, including their physicians.
